Republic Day Celebrated

The Republic Day was celebrated in the new school site on January 26, 2012, on the beautiful morning at 8:00 a.m. onwards. Participating in the function were our school well wishers Mr. Ramana Baba, France; Ms. Karina Stewartm, Scotland; Ms. Margaret Ramsey, England; Ms. Lucy Forsythm, UK; Mr. Joseph Kicken, Netherlands; Ms. Alison Grant, Scotland; Ms. Miriam, USA; Ms. Evelyn Rock, Ireland; Ms. Peta High, UK; and Ms. Aruna Gaker, UK. A warm welcome note, a sandalwood garland and a memento were presented by me to every one. Corporation Bank Manager Mr. Arumugam hoisted the Indian National Flag. As a military disciplined march past was performed by our higher class boys and girls. Mr. Ramana Baba and Ms. Karina distributed this year's best student award to M. Anbarasan, X STD boy, and P. Muthulakshmi, III STD girl. This session was over with vote of thanks delivered by the English teacher Mr. Sundaravathanam.

After this, all the guests, parents, teachers and children enjoyed a healthy breakfast in the school itself. Then the children went for makeup to perform cultural programs. At this time, Lord Ganesha puja took place. All the guests participated in the puja. On the continuation of this puja, the wall raising ceremony in the new school building was performed. Every one laid a brick for the new wall.

The most exciting cultural programs started at 10:30 a.m. Classical Dance, Devotional Dance, National Dance, Tamil and English plays, Folk Dance, etc., were actively performed by the children. These were a very good entertainment to the children, parents and the guests. At the end of the program, Mr. Ramana Baba conducted Meditation. Some of the teachers and the guests participated in the meditation. The celebration began with a prayer and ended with the calm meditation.
