School Building Fundraising Event

On Sunday, December 24, the Trust held a fundraising event at the three-star Arunai Anantha Hotel for the school building construction. At 6:30 p.m. Santa Claus and several teachers welcomed the arriving guests totaling more than 50 people from India and abroad. School well-wishers Mr. Ryan Shaw from USA and Ms. Leela Kallffors from Sweden were also present.
The dance company of Erode “Murugan Natanalaya” master Muruganathan performed several Indian classical dances of Bharathanatyam. Muruganathan had received the Kalai Sudarmani award from the government of Tamil Nadu for his work.
During the intermission of the program, a video of Sri Ramana Matriculation School was shown to the guests. Sri G. S. Sharmaji from Bangalore was so moved by the dance performance and the video presentation that he donated INR. 20,000 for the building fund and INR. 1,000 to each of the seven dancers while praising their performances.
After the program, guest were treated to an Indian dinner of sweet rava idly and uthappam.

Birthday Celebration
When 10th-standard student A. Prabhakaran lost his father several years ago, he was admitted in the school and the free hostel run by its Trust. Mr. Ryan Shaw from USA, who has been sponsoring his education, celebrates Prabhakaran’s birthday in the place of his family member each year during his visits India. On December 21, Prabhakaran celebrated his 16th birthday with cake and a special dinner. |
