News Republic Day Celebration and Free Medical Eye Camp The Republic Day celebration and the Free Eye Camp were held at the Sri Ramana Matriculation School on January 26, 2006. Dr. R. Ravichandran from Sri Ramana Maharishi Eye Hospital raised the national flag and gave the welcome address to the students. Mr. Mike and Ms. Janet Horsey from USA, Mr. Tow Wackerzapp and Mr. Joseph Kicken from Netherlands, and Ms. Yolande Revis and Mr. Davy Heylen from Belgium also attended the event. After the students completed the eye examination, snacks were served to everyone. As part of its mission, the Arunachalam Trust conducts medical camps. This free medical eye camp for the public was sponsored by One World Children’s Fund from USA. The Sri Ramana Maharishi Eye Hospital medical team conducted examinations on more than 150 people and 25 of them received cataract operations.
