Children’s Day Celebrated
India's Freedom Fighter and first Prime Minister Sri Nehruji's birthday falls on November 14 and is celebrated throughout India as Children's Day. The school’s celebration began at 2:00 p.m. with the prayer. Next, LKG teacher Ms. Prasana Ezhilarasi welcomed the attendees.
During the event, lower-school children participated in a rhymes competition; first- and second-standard students participated in a singing competition; third- through fifth-standard students participated in a Tamil and English elocution competition; and sixth- through tenth-standard students participated in a painting competition. The paintings will be exhibited in Switzerland by school well-wisher Ms. Elisabeth.
English teacher Mr. Manikandan made a presentation about the significance of Children's Day. Then, Sri Anand and Smt. Aruna, Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi devotees from Bangalore, presented prizes to the winners of the competitions. They also distributed a notebook, pen, banana and a sweet to each student who lives in the free hostel.
After fifth-standard teacher Ms. Ramya gave the Vote of Thanks, the function ended with the National Anthem. Sweets were distributed to the students.
