On September 5 at 2:00 pm,, Teachers Day was celebrated at the school. In honor of the teachers, a feast was arranged. Following the meal, the teachers participated in singing, elocution, poetry and a debate.. The students gave their teachers very thoughtful gifts. Three teachers were acknowledged for their good performance and kindness with the children: Mrs. D. Sudha, Educational Adviser, Mr. Baskar, primary teacher, and Mr. Manikandan, English teacher. The celebration was sponsored by Mr. Colm Cronin from Ireland.

In acknowledgement of World Population Day, an elocution competition was conducted by the Katampoondi Government Primary Health Center at Sri Ramana Matriculation School on September 3 at 10:00 am. Students spoke about the increasing population and consequent living conditions of India. Three of the competitors from the school were selected by the Health Officials and awarded prizes. The Health Center Medical Officer stressed that the lack of nutrition leads to illness during childhood. The students found the program very useful.
