India’s 62nd Independence Day Celebrated

On August 15, India’s 62nd Independence Day was celebrated at our school in a grand manner. At 8:00 a.m., students, teachers and parents gathered at the new school site. After a prayer, School Principal Mr. Ashokan welcomed the attendees. School Correspondent M. Karunanithi then gave a warm welcome to the guest, Mr. Manokaran, Manager of the State Bank of India, Tiruvannamalai Town Branch.

After the students honored Mr. Manokaran, he unfurled the National Flag and saluted the flag. In the speech he gave to the students, he explained with stories that each student has a talent, which can be developed by the teachers. He added that the unity is most needed now, and students should also learn to be unity in school.

Students holding I, II and III ranks and those with good attendance during the last academic year in the X standard were awarded prizes. This was followed by cultural programs which everyone enjoyed very much.

After vote of thanks given by the English Teacher Mr. Manikandan, the National Anthem was sung by all and sweets were distributed.
