Annual Competition Each year, RMCL from Bangalore conducts a Ramana competition for the school children in Tiruvannamalai. Our students participated again this year and received prizes. On January 30, the prize ceremony was held in Sri Ramanashram. School Correspondent M. Karunanith helped facilitate the function. (four photos)
Symposium Presented Mr. Donald O’Brien from Pachamama Alliance, USA, conducted a program of “Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream Symposium.” The symposium provided an inquiry into a bold vision—bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just human presence on earth. The program was held in Hotel Arunai Ananda on February 1. Mr. Donald presented a video led an open discussion. More than ten people participated from many countries. The trust helped sponsor the program and the school correspondent introduced Mr. Donald. (four photos)
Special Guests Visit School On February 3, Sri Ramana Baba and his mantra chanting group visited the school. The Ramana Baba Village Trust contributed £3,000 towards the school building construction. The offering was made possible by a contribution from Karina Stewart from Scotland, UK, who organized several sponsored days of 108 rounds of Surya Namaskar (Salutation to the Sun) exercises. These sponsored days raised the astonishing £3,000 for the school construction. Karina Stewart, along with the group, visited the new school site and chanted mantras so that the construction would be completed as soon as possible. When they visited the present school, students presented a cultural program for them. (four photos)
