For Good Luck and Prosperity
Lord Ganesh (Ganapathi) is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi. He is the God of Knowledge and Remover of Obstacles. He is also known as Vinayaka (bestower of knowledge) and Vigneshwara (remover of obstacles). He is worshipped before starting any important task and is believed to bring good luck and prosperity. As per this thought, we built a Ganesha temple at our new school site and performed Kumbabishekam between 19th and 21st April.
On 19th April Monday at 4:00 AM the Ganapathi Homam began and continued until 9:00 AM. At the same time, around 7: AM, Sri Vidya Ganapathi Idol was taken from a temple near Pachaiamman temple for pradakshna (taken around Arunachala Mountain) and reached at 9:30 AM. On this same day in the evening five priests prepared Kumbam and did the first Kala (time) puja.
On 20th April Tuesday at 8:00 AM, the second Kala Puja began. They fixed the Ganapathi Idol in the temple and the Kalasam on the tower. At the same time, Gopuja (Cow Puja)and some other preparations took place. In the evening at 5:00 PM, the Third Kala Puja and Vasthu Santhi was conducted, finishing at 9:00 PM.
On 21st April Wednesday, the Fourth Kala Puja started at 4:00 AM. They did Punahuthi at 6:00 AM and then the Kadam (Kalasam) started for the Kumbabishekam (pouring of Holy Water) on Kalasam and on the Vikrakam (Idol). They did Kumbabishekam for Kalasam at 6:45 AM and for the Vikrakam at 7:00 AM. Other kalasams were distributed to the VIPs, teachers and parents. Anadhanam was provided to all participants.
At 9:00 AM, Maha Abishekam was held for Sri Vidya Ganapathi. All the participants had Mangala Arathi at 10:30 AM. Then the participants had prasadam.
Mandalabishekam has been going on 48 days . Everyday at 6:00 PM, the puja is performed. Teachers, students, public and donors participate. Some of the well-wishers contributed for Kumbabishekam and some of the well-wishers contributed for Manadalabishekam. Our Heartfelt thanks to everybody.
May Sri Vidya Ganapathi bless all our Well-wishers.
