On October 17, the Vijayadhasamy festival was celebrated at the school. Students, teachers and parents participated in the puja. Ganapathi Omam was performed in the current school with kalasa (holy) water, abishekam offered to the Goddess Saraswati idol. Abishekam was offered to Sri Vidya Ganapathi at the new school site. After the abishekam and alankaram (decoration), students sang devotional songs under the direction of their music teacher.

Everyone worshiped Goddess Saraswathi at the end of the celebration and received karpura arathi (holy fire) from her. You were included in our worship and prayers.

A notebook, pencil or pen and a handful of buffed rice were distributed to the participating students. The other students also received these gifts. Teachers were honored with a pen, handful of buffed rice and fruit—bananas, apples, oranges and guavas.
